BLACK-OWNED TEXAS BREWERY WEATHERED SOULS ANNOUNCES ‘BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL’ BEER COLLABORATION VinePair To raise awareness of the injustices people of color face daily, black-owned San Antonio brewery Weathered Souls has announced a brewing collaboration “Black is Beautiful.”  Participating breweries will receive the recipe for an Imperial Stout, as well as a unique label design for cans.  Weathered Souls will donate part of its proceeds from the brew to the Know Your Rights Campaign.

THIS PIZZA CHAIN IS OFFERING PAID TIME OFF TO PROTEST Food & Wine D.C.-based pizza chain &Pizza is giving its 700 employees three days of additional PTO for activism of their choosing.  While no other restaurant chains have made similar offerings, the decision seems to be an early example of a mounting tend for social justice benefits offered as the newest employee incentive.

BLACK SUPPER IS A NEW FREE FOOD PROGRAM SERVING BLACK PROTESTORS Time Out New York Sol Sips, a restaurant in Brooklyn has launched Black Supper, a free food program only for Black people who might be protesting nearby or need a meal.  Each day of the week, Sol Sips has offered a full plant-based meal with a fresh beverage and dessert, all cooked on an electric stovetop.

BLACK-OWNED RESTAURANTS TO SUPPORT ACROSS NORTH AMERICA Conde Nast Traveler Conde Nast Traveler has compiled a list of Black-owned restaurants across the country to be a resource for both residents and travellers, for when we can travel again.  Black-run businesses are more likely to be turned down for financing than any other racial group and restaurants are more likely to be rejected for funding than most other categories of business.
